BARNYARD MOVIE COMMENTARY

These Original Party Animals are the imaginations of Movie Execs with no understanding of biology.
I am not against imagination or stretching the truth when it comes to animation, cartooning, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. But what the hell is the purpose of creating male cows? It's not being done to be ironic or something unusual but clever like you would find in a Douglas Adams novel. It's being done out of laziness or ineptitude. For whatever reason, the people producing this film didn't think it was possible to have actual female cows being humorous or wild and even possibly inserting a bull. No, they figured they would inexplicably change female cows into male cows, which is the equivalent of putting tits on a man. I don't get it, I think it's lazy thinking. AND I guarantee you there's going to be some really stupid kids growing up thinking there are such things as male cows because their parents won't have the sense to explain to them that it just isn't so.
I have no problems with changing biology, but what is the reason? A new alien life form, a sex change, a gender issue--those would all be valid reasons for engaging in this kind of fiction. This is just dumb and even if the movie is fun to watch it ruins the experience when my intelligence is insulted that much. |
