CBN Wants Your Tithing Success Stories

CBN, that’s the Christian Broadcasting Network, wants your tithing success stories. In other words, if you tithed and then reaped financial blessings they want to show you off as an example of obeying God’s command to give (and subsequently get). They did not, however, ask for any failure stories–where you tithed and lost your house, job, retirement funds, etc. Seems a little one-sided if you ask me?

In particular, they appear to be asking for stories about when you gave to the CBN ministry by tying this into a thank you note for donating (which is odd because I’ve never donated). Possibly I’m being too cynical in my interpretation of this marketing, but any CBN giving stories could work as a promotion to encourage more giving to their ministry which is similar to playing the lottery. The more times you give, the more chances you have of returned blessings. Christian economics is wonderful.

  1. This comment is for Tell Us Your Story @CBN.
IN December 2012 I got very sick and was hospitilized for 7 days in Atlanta Ga. My hospital bill was almost $100,000.000 I had no insurance to cover the bill so I have always done the right thing so I said God I give this debt to you. About one week later in the mail I received a letter from Northside Hospital stating that they covered my entire Bill. I can give you copies of these documents. I never asked their finance department I just asked God. Not only did he heal me 100% but he also paid my debt. A true story. I may be reached at 678-906-8411 or ppiggee48@aol.com. May God continue to Richly Bless you all.

  2. When you let go of something you want bad it’s funny God seems to bring it back. We had car problems and had to pay over a thousand to fix it. Because we only have one income now we had to give up our vacation money. I was really looking forward to going. Well my husband and I believe in tithing and always have and gifting to ministries we believe He opens the door to jobs and has given us the ability to do all things. So what I said was God I know if were suppose to go on this vacation I know were going to be there.(I always say that when I want something bad)Ha. Well my daughter sold her house and paid her dad back for some money she borrowed. Her house sold in less then a month! God is awesome! He adds color to your life. Hes not boring at all. And He knows all about it.

  4. Greetings CBN,
We did not grow up in a Christian home. We lived in what would be called today a disfunctional family because of alcohol and other related problems. My grandparents who lived next door had been born again in their forties. My grandfather took me to church and when I was 13 years old I knelt at an alter and committed my life to God in 1959. In 1960 my grandfather received a diagnoses of cancer and he needed surgery to correct the problem. He was operated on and I was told that he was doing well and that I would be able to visit him in the hospital. I remember getting off the school bus and going into our home and found out that my grandfather had passed away that day.
I felt that God had failed me so I stopped attending church and got involved living a sinful lifestyle and became a prodigal son. I had no desire to serve God and became an alcoholic and my marriage was suffering greatly from my lifestyle. My wife and I decided to move out west to Phoenix, Az. Because of our new surrounding and good weather it seemed that things were improving in our marriage and I wasn’t drinking alcohol as much, but after about 6 months I began stopping in bars after work and only became more addicted to alcohol and pot. In 1982 at the age of 36 years old, I began taking glider lessons at Turf Soaring School. After going through the ground school and having many instructed flights, I was able to attain my solo license, where I could fly by myself without the instructor sitting behind me.
I had been experiencing thoughts of suicide and how easy it would be to commit it in the glider and it would just look like a flying accident by a novice pilot. One Sunday morning about 10:30 am on my third solo flight, I was towed up to 3000 feet and when I pulled the release button I tried moving the control stick and it was jammed. I could not move it at all. At that moment I realized that I was not ready to die, and I was engulfed by fear. I just froze and did not move, but just like you walked into a totally dark room and flipped a light switch on, the presence of God filled the cockpit and the fear was instantly gone and I was totally delivered from alcohol and drugs. This happened over 30 years ago and I never had any cravings or struggle with alcohol or drugs since. The next Sunday morning my family and I went to church and when the alter call was given, I went forward and recommitted my life to Jesus Christ.
We have been faithful in paying our tithes and offerings and been a member of the 700 club for many years.

In 1984 I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma on my leg, and my doctor told me that he had just lost a patient 6 months earlier who had the same diagnosis that I had. I did what the bible says and went to the elders of our church so they could anoint me with oil and pray the prayer of faith over me. The doctors were concerned that the cancer had already begun to spread, so they did a radical surgery on the front of my ankle. After the surgery and 2 months of physical therapy, I could not move my ankle or foot at all. One afternoon I was laying on my back and my leg began heating up and I believe that the healing heat of God went through my leg. I now walk normal and my ankle and foot move normally.
God blesses us in many more ways other than just financially
    Thank you Jesus!!!
