This site does not have my permission to give or show my e-mail to anyone.

Why is it that no one asks about Extropy ? It appears to have been hijacked from the definition of a energetic system moving towards a greater level of organization, energy, capability, etc... Ultimately forming consciousness, self awareness, and finally universal immortal all encompassing super consciousness... Everything Entropy is being dogmatically forced down our throats, by those who have vested interests in profiting off of mentally enforced states of rigid-scientific-dogmatic slavery.

The phrase "Intelligent Design" was invented shortly after the Creationists lost at their attempt to teach their religious beliefs (that God created the universe) in public schools. They changed all their documents to use the new phrase, and started pretending it was "science" rather than a religious belief.

They didn't fool anybody.

ID proponents spend a lot of time talking about how the universe could not possibly happen any other way, but I have _never_ seen an ID proponent suggest any scientific investigation of the alleged designer.

Maybe Martin Zehnder is different. So, I ask:

What do you know about the designer? What could you do to try to find out more?

If you know anything about the designer other than "it must exist", how can I test whether your claims are accurate?

b.t.w. Humanism is morally superior to the Christianity of the Bible. If you don't believe me, check out all the death penalties, rules about clean vs unclean, rules about how you may treat your slaves.

Of course, I'm assuming that keeping slaves is immoral, that homosexuality is perfectly reasonable if you like that sort of thing, and that I don't need a separate set of dishes for meat and milk.

I am so totally fascinated by Jake and the discussion above. I would like to add something. I find it interesting that some people who have no belief in god or a transcendant creator somehow think that those of us who accept an Intelligent Designer have an "anti-science bias". (There may some like that, but I think that they are either an uneducated minority or they are people who really do not have the time for or an interest in science; which should be Ok with the rest of us.)

What I would like to point out (and I think that I speak for most people who believe in a Creator-God) that we are very passionate about truth and factual scientific information. We are not at all anti-science. In fact we love the beauty and balance that science displays. We want science to flourish rather than to be worshipped. We are just simply not convinced that current scientific evidence proves beyond all doubt that the current universe came about through blind chance. To disallow scientists to challenge the problems of evolution is the height of dogmatic hypocrisy. To say that scientists have nothing to say about the evidence for intelligent design demonstrates blind faith in the religion of darwinism and scientism. Look for example at the well-written book "Signature in the Cell". And consider the philosophical implication to this question: "How can science explain the existence of intellectual thought from unthinking dead matter." Let us be open and aware and seekers for truth. Let us not debate the issues with animosity. Let us not attack personalities with rancor.
I recently challenged my teen age son (who thinks he tends to agnosticism) with: "Fine. But if you find a religion or philosophy that is better than, more comprehensive than, or morally superior to Christianity of the Bible, let me know about it, because I want follow that teaching. I'm open. Let's talk."

Great kid. Great mind. Wonderful he's here.
Why is it that on everyone of these forums some moron has to use it to push their political POV?
This isn't the place for that.
The article doesn't discuss anything about politics.
Darren, you are a loser, and one of the walking brain dead.

Vinny, the theory that autistic people are just automatons that are regurgitating information has been DISCREDITED for some time now. Try to keep current.

As an Aspie myself I went through a long period in adolescence where I literally questioned whether I was "real" thanks to those kinds of theories and nearly drove myself insane.

Barnett is asking a relatively simple question... why does carbon form rather than the next heaviest element. That question ironically fact one that does have an answer... But Jacob despite his obvious grasp of the concepts hasn't found that out yet. Its not at all at odds with inflation. And Jacob is not referring to inflation anyway.

Carbon (and I should know) is too heavy to have formed just after or before inflation or during it. Before we even get into its properties its covalent radius is far too large to have formed without considerable pressure and other elements... and of course without hydrogen this is impossible.

Barnett therefore is talking about a relatively long time after the big bang when there were already stars to burn hydrogen down to carbon. This is about 300 to 400 million years after the initial expansion... not before, during or just after the big bang...it has nothing to do with that. And none of those formulae he used describe an early state universe anyway.

Of course Becks audience have no idea about any of that...they get their information during all of these videos from Beck.

Beck knows this full well too... but of course he doesn't care if it backfires on him...and it will. He'll just ignore Barnett for the rest of his life...and when Jacob is working in a physics department of a university in 5 or 6 years time from now Beck will be nowhere to be seen.... but he'll still be using this video as if Jacob is still a kid.

Unless of course Barnett sues his ass!
