| This toon was inspired by some science news report about giving robots the ability to feel. This would be important for picking up objects--size, temperature, texture are all factors when we pick something up. Try putting on a pair of gloves that take away your sense of touch and it becomes very hard to do even simple things because you lose your ability to know where your fingers are in relation to the object. If we can give robots a sense of touch, it will be a major step towards building an artificial being. |
